Question

Dear Developers,
I have a small doubt on option (50) Requested IP address. These option code 50 is passed with the DHCP discover from client's side for demanding the specific IP from the server.
My doubt is that if DHCP server is unable to fulfil clients' request then what will be the case -
Case 1 - DHCP server simply ignore it and DHCP client will send another DHCP Discover to the server after specific time
Case 2 - DHCP server simply accepts the clients request and assign the requested IP to the client.
???

I Googled this, and quickly found the following:
If the requested address is available, DHCP assigns it to the client. If the address is unavailable, the DHCP local server offers another address, based on the address allocation process.
The key words that I used are: dhcp option 50

Dear Bruce,
Thanks for reply.
Bruce, I had also gone through this link apart from other links also. But, it was the only link where it was written that if requested IP not available then DHCP allocate another IP and that's why I was in doubt. But, know its clear.
Again Thanks..
