How to Integrate Workday and Sharepoint HR Portal

Question

Thursday, November 24, 2016 1:41 PM | 1 vote

I work at abbott labs in Lake County Illinois. Workday is our system of record. I am seeking information on how we can improve the user experience for people visiting our myHR portal and then entering workday. The integration between our sharepoint-based myHR portal and workday is less than ideal. I would like to learn how we can include deep links to our sharepoint portal within workday and vice versa.  It seems once you enter workday, it is not possible to link to content in sharepoint. It also seems that it is not possible to deep link into specific sections of workday from the portal (i.e., every link must tale user to welcome page). This is problematic.

Hi matthewnewman2016,

As this issue is regarding to the Workday, a third-party application, I would suggest you contact with Workday technical Support. So that a dedicated Support Professional can assist you to find out an efficient solution for the integrating Workday with SharePoint.

Hi Linda

Thank you for responding.

For me, this is a question that is about Sharepoint AND Workday.  I think it is a common situation for people using Sharepoint to have integration questions about workday.  For example, is there a sharepoint developer who has integrated workday with sharepoint 10? If so, were they able to provide deep links into workday from sharepoint? This is equally a question about sharepoint and workday.

Sincerely,

Matt Newman

Not sure if you're still interested in this topic, but have you discovered the APIs that Workday offers? Seems that might be the best way to do integrations.  I.e., if you want to show someone their latest paycheck in the SP portal, call the API for that. Want to let them request time off, call the API for that. Search for "Workday Web Services Directory" and you should find the latest version.
