OS: Windows Vista - Enterprise
Server: Windows Server 2003
I'm trying to restore a specific folder, due to accidental file deletion, on a network drive but none of the previous versions are appearing, it says "there are no previous versions available". I've checked on the server and the versions go back about a week or 2.
I know one of the reasons there would be no previous version is because there was no change to the file(s) or folder(s). There are no event log entries reporting any problem when I try the "restore previous versions" tab.

Hello Andrew,
Do you enable Shadow Copies on the Windows Server 2003?
Please use the command vssadmin list shadows at a command prompt, can you see the volume that hosts the file or the folder have a list of shadow copies that are associated with the volume? If yes, this issue could be occur if File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is not bound to Local Area Connection.
Please refer to KB937862 to check if the solution can be helpfu.
**"Folder versions" list is blank, or you receive a message on Windows Vista: "There are no previous versions available"

Hope this can be helpful.

I did find that shadow copies on an iSCSI drive don't always show up in the Previous versions tab. Restarting the "Server" service fixes it for me.
