Question

We've installed 700+ computers with Windows 10. Now we have a strange issue on a few of those pc's. When we want to open the task manager, a pop up appears asking for administrator rights. This is very strange, because on most of our pc's no admin rights are asked, even if the UAC is configured at the highest level. When I browse to taskmgr.exe in C:\Windows\system32, the taskmgr.exe file has exactly the same rights as those of the majority of our pcs where the task manager works fine.
Does somebody know what's going on?
Thanks in advance!

Task manager UAC bug also affects windows 10
Linked thread in which users that are members of the Network Configuration Operators local group get this prompt. That was recreated by me sometime ago. So are these affected users in Network Configuration Operators?

The AD user was not a member of the Network Configuration Operators local group, but of the "Power Users" local group. Removing the user from the "Power Users" solved the issue. Thanks Mr Happy!

The reason for the prompt is that you have selected the "Notify Me" option in User Account Control Settings. Choose one option down and you are good to go.
Check Control Panel > User Account > Change User Account Control Setting > Set the bar one down from top ("Always Notify").
