Unable to remove Windows 10 security policies applied by my company

Question

Wednesday, September 2, 2015 11:00 PM

When I first installed windows 10 I used my corporate account which caused that all company policies were applied to my machine.

I created a new local administrator account and deleted my company account but the policies still remain applied.

Unlike on Windows 8 I cannot reset security policies through control panel. Also I don't see any policy applied in Group Policy panel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Simply deleting your account will not, as you've discovered, work. From the sounds of it your computer is joined to your company's domain and is having Group Policy applied. What you're going to need to do is to remove your computer from the domain. This should remove most of the security restrictions.

1. Right-click the Start menu and then click System.
2. Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings click Change settings.
3. On the Computer Name tab, click Change.
4. Click Workgroup, enter a name for the Workgroup and then click OK and reboot when prompted.

LuchoArg,

Could you please share more details regarding the policy applied here?

Do you mean the policy applied when you added your exchange Mail account?

On Windows 8.1 there would be Reset security pilicies available, for Windows 10, no, and I don't find out any helpful ways to reset it back.

If this is only affected your mail account, then delete the mail account would make it work.

And if you have joined your machine to your domain, then please follow what Paul suggested, re-join to a workgroup should reset the policies on your computer.
