Hi,
What version are the Office and OS that you are using? Does the issue always occur when you start Excel or open any Excel files? Did you make any setting modifies or changes to Excel before the problem occurred? Did you try modify the access right to Excel in DCOM setting once?
If you are using Excel for Windows, please try to open Excel in Safe Mode to have a check. To do this, press Windows + R to start Run, type excel /safe and press Enter. Will the issue still occur? If you are able to open Excel without any issues. Please follow these following steps to check if any add-in is causing the issue:
1. From the **File **menu, select Options.
2. Choose **Add-ins **on the left pane.
3. At the right pane, select COM Add-ins and click Go…
**4. **Uncheck any unwanted plugin and click OK.
5. Restart the Office application and edit the object again.
6. Repeat the steps above until all the add-in are disabled.
If you are using Excel for Mac, please try to Update Office for Mac to check if it fixes. If the issue still occurs, please provide detail version information to help me do further analyze. If you have any updates or questions, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Herb
