Hello
We want to redirect domain a to domain b so when you type into browser www.domainA.com it must be redirected and also shown a new url to www.domainB.com. I know this can be done under DNS with CNAME record, but this only redirects domain to a different IP, browsers is still showing the 'old' name. We don't want to use IIS redirection. Looking for a comercial domain on a godaddy hosting services it allows you to redirect a whole domain to a new one, but this is not possible for our country (local) domain. Can this be done in any other way? Any suggestions and help will be gladely appriciated.
Regards,Miha

go to the dns mgt console(dnsmgmt.msc).then go to the forward lookupzone.
create zone named domainA.com
in the domainA.com zone create a record and name it as "www" then for the ip address give the www.domainb.com websites ip address.

Hi Miha,
Thanks for posting here.

I think the best way to achieve the goal is to use the redirection feature in IIS:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732969(WS.10).aspx
So basically we should create A record “WWW” under zone domainA.com on the DNS server that all clients are pointing to use. And assign an address to this record, address should holding by a server that installed IIS with configured URL redirection that redirect to the domain we want (www.domainB.com in this case).
Thanks.

Hi Darshana
Thanks, but this is as doing with CNAME recored. Typing www.domainA.com will show site for a domainB, but URL will still be seen as www.domainA.com
I want to achieve that when typing www.domainA.com it will redirect me to www.domainB.com and also show a new url ww.domainB.com.
Is I said I know that this can be done on a IIS level, but I don't want to do this. I see on GoDaddy admin console domain redirection function.
It does exactly what we want to achieve entering domainA and the forwarding to domainB entire URL. Any ideas how to achieve this?
I have found Domain Pointers but I'm know if this can be configured under Windows DNS?

You can do site domain redirection by programming in HTML, for example: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_redirect
where: <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="5;url=https://www.site-domain-redirection.com">
where: content="5; = is equal 5 seconds to be redirected to the site url
