Failed to delete Directory C:\WINDOWS\ccmcache\BCWork with Error 0x0000002

Question

Clients are downloading content just fine and I am not having any other issues with software deployments...as far as I can tell. I am just tired of seeing the following error in the CAS.log for every downloaded application and was wondering if others are or were seeing this too and if there is a simple fix?

Error: DeleteDirectory:- Failed to delete Directory C:\WINDOWS\ccmcache\directoryname>.BCWork with Error 0x00000002.

I'm pretty sure the BC is related to Branch Cache but I have yet to track down a setting that eliminates the error in the CAS.log

Why does it matter? It's not a fatal error in any way. There are many things that are errors that are expected and/or normal. Not every error is or is supposed to be actionable.

Yes, we see this in our environment.

Do you use BC?

Do you use the setting on SU deployments / Applicati0n deployments, mentioned here?

If that's your only issue with ConfigMgr - you're doing OK!

It's a common error - (0x00000002 is a fairly generic 'operation failed' error) -  see it all the time, and suspect it's due to a timing issue i.e a process tries to delete the .bcwork folder (which is a BranchCache related folder that usually only appears briefly then gets deleted) which is locked for some reason, then at the next attempt it all works out and the folder is gone..
