Question

Hi Experts,

Recently we found that all the T560 models which are reimaged through SCCM have a common issue.

"C:\ProgramData\Synaptics\ValidityService.log" file grows to 60 GB size.

Is this a known issue. What is the fix for this. Please help.

Thanks, S K Agrawal

Synaptics is the Vendor of the Trackpad and has it's own Drivers / Compoennts. Configuration Manager does nothing with does components, unless installing them.

Did you already check the log? You can also try to pdate the Synaptic Driver/Components to the latest Version to see if this fixes your issue?

Hi!

We have exact the same problem at our T560 and X260 models!

The Fingerprint Manager Pro and the drivers are the newest available at this time.

Renaming or deleting the ValidityService.log file is no solution, the log file will be created and filled again immediately! The only "solution" is to completely disable the windows service "Synaptics FP WBF Policy Service". When the service is disabled the log file won`t be created/filled again. But this can´t be THE solution!?

Has anybody another idea?

Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Chris

This has nothing to do with CM12, as such you should contact the published as ask them why the log is growing.

Hi,

Are these models running the same OS version? Have you already tried to contact the vendor about this issue?

Hi

Seems like the solution is to stop  the Synaptics FP WBF Policy Service, delete the ValidityService.log, create empty ValidityService.log file, make it read-only and then start the service.

So far it works.
