I have Win 10 - latest update; and Office 365 Pro - latest update. Office keeps trying (unsuccessfully) to open some .pub files with MS Edge. Control Panel "Default Programs" will only permit me to choose Edge or the MS Store for an app to associate .pub files with. There's no choice to browse my computer and select MS Publication as the default app for .pub files.

Hi,
Please make sure that you have installed Publisher successfully. You can click Windows button to open start menu and check if these is the shortcut of Publisher there. If it's there, can you open Publisher smoothly? Click File > Open to locate your .pub files and check if
If you can open Publisher smoothly, please try to set defaults by app: Open Windows Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Set defaults by app > Publisher > Manage > click to select a default app for .pub. Is Publisher in the list? If so, select Publisher and check if it works.
If you can't find Publisher in Start menu or in the list, please try to repair Office 365 from Control Panel: Repair an Office application. You can try the faster Quick Repair option first. If it doesn't work, you can try to use Online Repair option with Internet Connection required.
In addition, please contact your administrator and confirm if Publisher is configured to be installed as a part of Office 365.
You can try to log in the computer with other Windows user accounts and check if you can open .pub files with Publishers under a different profile.
If you have any updates, feel free to post back to let us know.
Best Regards,
Herb
