Question

I've added a video to a slide and checked the "Loop until stopped" option, but the video will not loop on a consistent basis. It seems that if I uncheck that option then check it again, it will loop the first time I run the presentation, but not after that, and sometimes not even then.
I've tried linking the video as well as embedding it, and also MP4 and WMV formats; same issue.

The presentation I was working with when encountering these errors was an existing one that's probably been around for a while, and I did not notice that PP was running in Compatibility Mode. I did a conversion to PPTX and the videos work correctly now.

It's recommended to download and install Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office programs.

I went to File | Info | Optimize media compatibility and let it do its stuff and now the video repeats.
