Windows 10 run Edge browser as different user

Question

For some sites I need to use an elevated/different account.  I'm able to do this with IE using Shift+Right-Click and selecting "Run as a different user".  Is there a way to enable this is Microsoft Edge?

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, but when launching Edge as a different user, task manager shows the process as running in the current user context.  Running other traditional apps (i.e. notepad, IE, etc.) as a different user show the process as being ran by the user/creds entered.  Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi,

Microsoft Edge is different from IE or notepad these desktop app, it shows as a store app.

As we know, store app is based on current login account, so you meet with the situation you mentioned, that is my thought.

Best regards

1. Go to below loaction

    C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe

2. select MicrosoftEdge > Shift+Right click > Run as different user

2. select MicrosoftEdge > Shift+Right click > Run as different user

That doesn't seem to launch Edge

Same result here.  The dialog box closes like it is going to kick off the app then nothing starts. And I dont see anything at all in the logs.

Right-clicking on Edge and running in-private allows for you to sign in as a different user
