Microsoft document explorer

Question

Saturday, September 25, 2010 8:22 AM

I been looking and checking threw my PC's setup and I can't find out where and if Microsoft document explorer is installed at or if it's installed. I tried to look for it in the Microsoft Download section and didn't find a thing. Can any one tell me where this is install at, or where I can download it at.

From what I been reading its the only thing that will open the HelpStudio Lite Help Files called *.hsx

My idea was to use a process control to load these files into Microsoft document explorer so they can be viewed. The ____ they are talking about I just don't under stand.

Thanks

Joe

Hello Joe - Microsoft Document Explorer only gets installed with our earlier Visual Studio 2002-2008 developer products and some SDKs. HelpStudio Lite is specifically intended for supporting Visual Studio add-ins. Can you confirm that you have a Visual Studio product installed? When Visual Studio 2008 is installed, you should also see "Microsoft Document Explorer 2008" in Programs and Features or (Add/Remove Programs if you're running XP).

For those poor souls that still need this 'today' and want to be able to download it...

How do you launch it? Can't find it in Programs.
