Exchange 2016 ECP admin page is not working

Hello folks,

ECP admin page is not working for exchange server 2016.

We have three exchange servers in DAG (2-HQ) and 1-DR

One Exchange Admin server where management tools are installed.

No changes were done on any server and all of a sudden since yesterday our ecp is not working rest everything is working fine.

Appreciate your suggestions.

Hi Arif,

Is that you cannot access ECP or you can see the login page but cannot login with correct password? Any ERROR information shown about that? Check the Event log and you may got some clues.

1.You can try some other URLs to access ECP, such as https://localhost/ecp,https://<ServerFQDN>/ecp,https://serverfqdn/ecp/?ExchClientVer=15

2.Go to IIS Manager and recycle MSExchangeECPAppPool.

3.Recreate ECP virtual directory with following command and run IISreset:

Remove-EcpVirtualDirectory -Identity “ex2016\ecp (Default Web Site)”
New-EcpVirtualDirectory  -InternalUrl “https://mail.contoso.local/ecp” -ExternalUrl  “https://mail.contoso.local/ecp”

See ECP works after you follow the steps.

Hi Eric,

We can browse the ecp login page when we enter the credentials there is a problem.

We get error like http error 404.

i will try the suggested steps and let you know.

Issue is solved after recreating ecp virtual directories.
