How to print multiple records on one page

Question

Thursday, October 16, 2014 5:57 PM

I am trying to create a report with multiple records per page. The layout of the report will look like  a table with column headers and the records listed below with one record per row (like an Excel worksheet). The idea is to list all the records until the page is filled up and then go on to the next page. I have looked on other forums for the answer and there is no clear answer. The fields for the report are in the Detail section of the report. Right now I am getting one record per page. Is there a setting to turn that off or is there some way I have to design the report?

Force New Page Property is alreday set to None. Should I added the text boxes for each field until the Detail page is filled up? I tried that and I didn't work. I may be doing it wrong. Right now I have just one text per field on the the page.

No, the Detail section should only have one text box for each field you want to display, arranged horizontally across the page.  There must be some other reason the report is breaking to a new page after each detail.

Is the Detail section sized too tall?  For what you want to do, the height of the Detail section should be only tall enough to fit the text boxes, or only a little taller to if you want to give a little space between the lines on the report.

Did you by any chance add a Page Break control to the detail section?  You don't want one.

Normally the default would be to have multiple detail items per page, so I'm not sure how your report ended up like this.  In design view, select the Detail section and bring up the property sheet for the section.  On the Format tab of the property sheet, make sure the Force New Page property is set to "None".
