When we gave the command Insert/Online Picture and searchede Office.com for something, it finds results. When you click one of the pictures and choose Insert, it gives a brief downloading message and then you get the error message: "An error occurred while importing this file. C:\Path of the file"
If IE is open the error does not happen on the same files it happend on before
I tested this in different stations it only works when IE is open
Changed the path ad I still get the errror
A google search showd ohe rpeoples with the same issue and the fix was to open IE
Please advise
Thank you

Hi
Did the issue happen in another user account?
What is your version of Internet Explore?
Try the check the issue with Administrator Account.
It is also recommended you disable firewall and antivirus software, reset your IE.
We can also start Office in safe mode to see if add-ins cause the problem.(Win+R>excel /safe or winword /safe)
Since similar things didn’t happen in my computer, we could also try to repair Office.(Control panel>Program and features>Office 2013>Change>Repair)

Hi
When you try to insert a graphic or Clip Art, a graphic filter must be available in order for Word to convert the graphic or Clip Art picture.
If Word does not recognize the graphic type, you might receive the error message: “An error occurred while importing this file”.
For this reason, we can solve the issue by installing the graphic filter. Following these steps:
1.Quit Word and/or Office.
2.On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3.Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
4.Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
5.In the list of installed software, select Microsoft Office 2013. Then click Add/Remove. The Setup program starts.
6.On the Setup screen, click Add/Remove.
7.On the Office shared features, select the Converters and Filters check box. (Do not clear the check box if it already is selected.) Then click Change Option.
8.In the Converters and Filters dialog box, select the Graphic Filters check box. (Do not clear the check box if it is selected already.) Then click Change Option.
9.On the Graphic filters screen, select each of the graphic filters that you want to install. Then click OK.
10.Click OK to return to Setup Maintenance. Then click Continue and complete the Setup process.
Hope it helps

I installed MS Office 2013 to run everything from the local computer. I went and checked as you described and all the flters are installed already, and just to make sure I was not downloading unsupported format I tried to insert a ".GIF" picture from office.com (the gif filter is installed) I ve got the same issue

I have this exact same issue at the school where I work at. Due to some policy setting (I think at least) certain profiles that are more restricted than others can't import online clipart. If I install IE9/10 they can, but then IE9/10 closes about a second after opening. I think this might be due to the Faronics Insight software we have installed, but haven't been able to test that theory. I fixed the IE9/10 closing error by updating Office 2013, I don't know which particular update did it, I just installed updates until there were no more. I had to get various Office 2013 updates before it would even show me Office 2013 SP2 as an option under Windows Updates just to give you an idea of how out of date Office 2013 was. After all the Office 2013 updates were finished, IE9/10 worked properly again. Unfortunately, for whatever ill-advised reason, IE8 needs to be on the computers. So back to the importing error. Strangely, having IE8 open while using the import feature actually worked. What to take away from that as a means of finding an actual fix to the problem, I'm not really sure. Will continue to keep looking for an answer.

I'm using Office 2013 on Win 7 64. I can paste an image, but cannot insert. Images once pasted can be saved. But when the file is opened, the message "This image cannot currently be displayed" appears for some while others display, and some appear as a black spot. Using change picture with insert always ends with the above message. All uses of insert picture in all Office apps ends with the message "An error occurred while importing this file." Same result with tiff, jpeg, gif, bmp, etc. I have repaired, uninstalled, and reinstalled Office more than once. This does not fix anything. I saw a reply to this question elsewhere that said the OS needs to be reinstalled. The directions to find the graphic filters does not relate to my Win 7 installation. I can't find anything after step two. This is not acceptable. I see WordPerfect in my future if this does not get fixed.
