Greetings Microsoft Community,
This system is running windows 10 pro on a windows server 2016 domain. I have enabled the settings required in the GPO so that I should be able to use fingerprint sign on but it still doesn't allow me to set up fingerprint sign on. (Greyed Out)
Things I have tried:
.../Windows Components/Windows Hello For Business/ Use biometrics => Enabled
.../Windows Components/System/Biometrics -> Enabled
.../System/Logon/ Turn on convenience PIN sign-in => Enabled
.../Windows Components/Biometrics/ Allow domain users to log on using biometrics => Enabled
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Ike

- Right-click on Start button on taskbar to open the power user menu and then click Device Manager to open the same.
- If your PC is equipped with a fingerprint sensor, you will see Biometric devices entry in Device Manager.
- Expand Biometric devices entry, right-click on your finger print scanner and then click Update Driver Software message.
- Click the first option labeled Search automatically for updated driver software to let Windows 10 automatically search for the newest version of the driver and automatically install the same, if available.
- You should also check the BIOS - Enter the BIOS and check the Fingerprint option is enabled or not.

Hi,
You can set the "use Windows Hello for Business" policy to "not configured"
Also try the following registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System]
"AllowDomainPINLogon"=dword:00000001
Best Regards,
Tao
