Failed DAG Quorum Group

Question

Tuesday, October 18, 2011 3:41 PM

When I run test-replicationhealth on my mailbox server it's showing that the QuorumGroup heath is failed.  I checked the cluster service on the server and it's started.  Everything is showing normal in ESM.  Does anyone know what can cause this and how to fix it?  Can I restart the cluster service without affecting clients?

With this little details (read none) of your DAG Setup, I can only guess that you have an even number of members in the DAG and that the resource for the File Share Witness is in an failed or offline state in the cluster.
Check in Failover Cluster Manger.Martina Miskovic - http://www.nic2012.com/

WHat exactly shows up as failed?

The QuorumGroup shows as failed when running test-replicationhealth on my mailbox server.
I'm wondering if a cluster service restart will resolve the issue...?

Well, that doesnt tell us anything  :)

test-replicationhealth | fl

It should list exactly what is in an error state.

This is what I'm getting.

Quorum resource 'Cluster Group' is not online on server 'exchange'.  Database availability group 'DAG' might not be reachable or may have lost redundancy.  Error:

Cluster Name: Offline

Cluster IP Address: Failed

IPv4 Static Address 1: Offline is offline.  Please verify that the cluster service is running on the server.

Hi DG1212,

Any updates?

And please check whether there is any error event in the Failover Cluster Manager.

ok, after rasing a case with Microsoft, we found that the account for the dag cluster had been disabled by accident, so only gave right clic to enable cluster account again, and I was able to get online the share witness, the cluster's name and all the cluster was online again. :)

By the way I would no try to restart the cluster service in any dag member server, because I try this and all my dag and email service went down, I had to reboot all the members of the dag at the same time in order to bring the email online again but this didn't help to bring on line the dag quorum

Regards to all.
