Question

Hi Friends,
DELL M3800, M4800 etc models are capable of RAID, and by default the SATA Options in bios is : RAID ON, is there a script or command line which will change it to AHCI
i would like to add this command line/script in the Task sequence for operating system deployment, so that even though the tech forgets to change the bios settings the command line/script will make the change before installing the OS
Best Regards,,
Tanoj

Hello !
Please refer to this post :
Extract :
For HP you need to use:BIOSConfigUtility.exe
Example: http://t3chn1ck.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/hp-biosconfigutility-command-line-in-a-task-sequence/
Hope this helps.

This is a hardware specific task; ConfigMgr is not a hardware management tool and has no knowledge of or capabilities to change anything hardware centric. Thus, you need to use tools provided by the hardware vendor to change hardware settings. The two other answers in this thread give links to those tools from Dell and HP. Lenovo and other tier 1 vendor have similar tools; you'll have to search their support sites or call them to get more info.

For Dell machines use Dell CCTK utility for making changes.

Hi,
Thank you for replying back, i read the information and steps for both HP & DELL, although it looks like a game, but would not be able to implement/inject new packages into the T/s because already the existing T/s is holding 140 + Packages, so i was under impression that may be i can find just a command line etc to make the change
can we at least get a command line which will check that the Bios is set to RAID ON and give a popup to the technician to change the setting manually ? ... i completely understood that this is something related to Hardware specific setting changes and SCCM may not be completely aware.. but just trying my Luck
Really appreciate your replies and pointing me to right direction

You must use one of the vendors' tools to even access the info and then create some custom notification process. It ultimately depends upon the hardware though.
