Question

Starting a few months ago, some emails got stuck in the drafts folder and/or disappeared. There is no consistency to whom they were addressed to, nor to time sent. I only realized today that some important emails never arrived. Can you explain how to fix this in lay language?

If You are using Outlook then :
Go to File - Option - Mail - Save Messages section.
You can either disable this by unchecking, or increase the time.

Hello,
Outlook sent emails may get stuck in the draft due to internal problems in Outlook settings. The main cause for this error is in network settings. You can edit send/receive settings in Outlook to resolve this issues if the problem is in settings.
A sent email may get stuck in draft or Outlook outbox, due to some common mistakes in the account.
- No internet connectivity with the mail server
- Attachment size
- Incorrect password
- Due to Add-ins
- Corruption in SRS file
To know more about this, visit the blog https://www.msoutlookware.com/error/emails-has-been-stuck-in-outbox.html
Hope this may help you fix the issue in your Outlook account.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi,
I would like to verify the following information to help us sort this out:
1、If you send/receive emails through the built-in Mail app in Windows 10, please delete and re-add your email account for testing.
If the issue persists, reinstall Mail app referring the following website:

Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.
Additionally, let’s check if the situations are the same when using emails through mail website app or other email app.
If so, this issue could be related to the supplier’s mail server, contact support there for further assistance.
2、If you send/receive emails through the Outlook app, try the suggestions that S.Sengupta said.
For further help, I suggest you submit a new case on Office forum as they will be more professional on your issue:
