Question

I would like to create an organizational chart based on information from Active Directory.
The following information should be in it:
- Department name
- Manager
- Employee
Preferable, the export should be made to CSV/Excel as well as a visualization of the hierarchy.
Visio does this as well (visualization part), but it works only if the organization is not too large

Did you even attempt to research this yourself? There are probably hundreds of articles on this topic. Here is the first google result that would be a great place to start:
Also, it is literally impossible to create an chart of any kind in a CSV file, as CSV means there are just a bunch of text values separated by commas. Please do some basic research and ask specific questions in the forums. This isn't a place for you to ask others to do your job/homework.

I am also researching this. Trying to get a csv or excel file out of AD.
Mike states "Also, it is literally impossible to create an chart of any kind in a CSV file, as CSV means there are just a bunch of text values separated by commas."
Mike, your tone and helpfulness of the above post really surprised me given you are an MVP.
Mike, you are wrong. It is possible and easy to create an org chart from a csv file. Simply open Visio 2016/365, go with the org chart wizard (it even helps you create the csv file) and bingo - org chart.
The real question is how to get a CSV or excel file out of AD or 365.

I agree that Mike's tone was surprising, and he didn't read the question closely before rattling off an answer.
Piet111 asked for a CSV file as well as a visualization of the chart, he didn't require the two to exist in the same file.
We are currently trying to create a organizational structure using AD attributes, and Title/Department so that we can import the data into Confluence and dynamically generate a chart. I was hoping to find some insight on this.

LOL. Somebody needs to brush up on their reading skills. (and social)

Wow Mike, be a jerk much? You didn't read his question very well, and your link didn't do anything to help. Try not being such a turd. If you don't know what you are doing don't help.

Hi,
So I been trying to use the import feature in Visio.
The only thing it will do is load the first person at the top of the tree and no one else populates under them. SO not sure if this actually works or if I'm not doing something right.
I choose to import from exchange server and then select the CEO as the top person but again only his info is loaded and no one else.

Having same issue for last few years. Only one person, Show/hide subordinates do nothing. Have you found the solution for this? I was searching occasionally last years and nothing.

Ah, my memory. Just remembered that the solution is to disable cached mode in your outlook. See https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/azure/en-US/171d9e2b-c2bd-4b6a-9a81-b5cfdd76eb65/visio-2016-create-org-chart-from-active-directory-doesnt-work?forum=visiogeneral
