Question

When I go to Restore there is a folder shown there named "C Missing"

Can anyone tell me what that is, how it got there, and is it safe to remove it.

Hi snifferpro,

The "missing" drive is an invalid one, seen in some OEM installations. This can be ignored and turn off protection of the "missing" drive.

From https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/filecab/2007/06/22/common-causes-and-solutions-to-backup-system-restore-and-complete-pc-backup-problems/

This error is caused by faulty imaging by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that results in the presence of an invalid volume. To see if this is the problem, go to System in Control Panel and open System Protection. There will be two volumes shown, one of which is selected and named “Missing.” Selecting C:\ and deselecting “Missing” solves the problem.

Hope it will be helpful to you
