hi all
i couldn't find any obvious document on internet about how long is arp cache in win 7 and win 2008 or 2008 R2 ?
i mean how long cached entries will remain in arp cache and after that system authomatically removes them from cache ? ( only about win 7 and 2008 or 2008 R )

Hi,
ARP caching behavior has been changed in Windows Vista and later version of OS (Win 7, Win2008 & 2008R2). In the new TCP/IP stack implementation, hosts create the neighbor cache entries when there is no matching entry in the neighbor cache. If an entry is not used, and it stays in cache longer than its “Reachable Time” value, the entry changes to the “Stale” state and removed from cache.
In order to see the current “Reachable Time” value, please follow the steps mentioned in the below link:
