Windows 10 Remote desktop tiny fonts ! Please help.

Question

Wednesday, May 11, 2016 10:40 PM

I'm using Windows 10 on HPx360 .  I use a Remote software program to get access to work.  However, whenever I try to remote in, everything is incredibly tiny.  I tried adjusting display settings  (before I remote in) and that has no effect.  Then, once I have remote in, there is nothing I can do to change the settings that I can find (which works).  Any advice on how to help resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi JacquelinePRJS,

“I use a Remote software program to get access to work.”

Are you using a third parity remote desktop application or built-in remote connection tool(mstsc.exe)?

If it is a third parity remote application, please try to remote using mstsc.exe to have a test.

I have tested on clean installed Windows 10, there is no such issue.

Please install all latest updates for Windows 10 and change the Display settings to check the issue.

If the issue still persists, please refer to Mr Happy and Shinish Sasidharan’s suggestion to delete the default.rdp hidden file and Change the size of All items to have a test.

Please let us know the result of the suggestions. If you need further assistance, feel free to let us know. We will be more than happy to be of assistance.

Best regards

So what are you using to remote in? If Remote Desktop, mstsc, then in your documents delete the default.rdp hidden file to see any settings in that are causing issues.

Hi!

I had the same problem.  And I fixed it like this:

1) Check the screen resolution in the target PC or server.

2) Set your local PC screen resolution to the same values.

3) If you use remote desktop, set the resolution to the same value.

The only cons of this solution: the local laptop or pc resolution suffers during the remote desktop session.

Hope that helps.
