Needed VS 2013 for older projects

  • Running the setup gave the above error

I am unable to proceed with install of VS 2013. Can any one help?

Hi Hariharan_S,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

I'm afraid that you download the update 5 for VS2013 instead of VS2013 with update 5.

Please try to sign in with your MSDN subscription or join the free Dev Essentials program, to gain access to the following VS 2013 With Update 5:

https://my.visualstudio.com/Downloads?q=visual%20studio%202013&wt.mc_id=o~msft~vscom~older-downloads

Remember to run the web installer as administrator.

Best regards,

Hi Hariharan_S,

Please have a look at this: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/heaths/2014/05/23/update-does-not-apply-or-is-blocked-by-another-condition-on-your-computer/

The easiest workaround is to re-install the product from either the download setup application or from media. In some cases setup will appear to run as a first-time install as if the product wasn’t installed. This will be very fast since all the packages are already installed. In some cases, you will be prompted to repair or uninstall, so choose Repair.

Best regards,

Joyce
