Applications are stuck not getting downloaded in the client cache

Hi All,

In our environment we have SCCM 2012.... The Applications are not being downloaded on few of the VM systems.

Check the DTS log in the client system:

Hi,

The error you are getting translates to "404 Not found" Are all the clients using the same DP? it sounds like something is not right with the package on that DP or the IIS/BITS on that server.

Hi Jorgen,

Please let me know any troubleshooting steps to analyse the issues. Tried all the below steps no luck,

This seems to be an issue with the Bits admin.

Disable the Bits Service on the client system

1. Try restarting the Bits service on the client system
2. Need to ensure the windows firewall is turned off
3. Try-rerunning the advertisement/re-deploying the application again on the client systems.

Let me know is there any other ways to resolve the issue, other than re-installing the client.

Is the BITS service running on the client at all? It should, otherwise it won' work.

we have verified, BITS service is running on the client. we did restart and did a policy reset as well. But no luck still in the same state.

Today again we observed, there are 4 to 5 VM machines failing to download the content.

The current environment is SCCM 2012 RTM verison which is used for deployment of apps. Today again i did saw some of the VM systems are facing the same issues.

Hi All,

I did a re-install of the SCCM client on two systems out of 5 VM's. The application started downloading and installing automatically.

But the other 3 systems we just did reset of policy and rebooted the system, no changes seen. what do you suggest me to do now. is this a bug in SCCM 2012 or we have any solution for this.

Yes, all the applicaitons are downloaded into the cache. I have cross checked with the engineer now.

what is next steps you want me to do now.

I know i'm almost 6 years late to the party, but in case somebody else stumbles into this thread about this issue.

I managed to clear the problem by emptying the cache on the problem computers. it seems it was stopping the download because it had it the cachesize limit
