Question

Port 61418 ( IPC Cannot connect System Error : ( 10060) Connection timed out.

We are using  Windows 2008 R2 Server 64 bit,  for Backup we use HP Data Protector  ver 9.xx for Backup.

HP Data protector Backup throughs error in one of the server.

Error message :   Port 61418 ( IPC Cannot connect System Error : (10060) Connection timedout )

Hp Enginner describe the error as below:

''

This shows the BDA-NET called connect () to create a socket connection from a port onbflhydro.bfl_hydro.com to port 18006 on bfl-dessvr.bfl_hydro.com via IP address 200.200.200.203. The connect () call failed and when GetLastError () was called,GetLastError () returned 10060. The connect () call is a MS Windows call.

I would suggest you to involve a network socket person investigate why the connect ()call fails when attempting to establish a socket connection to the specified port on the Media Agent (in this case it was port 18006 on bfl-dessvr.bfl_hydro.com server)

I would suggest to involve MS support as well to collaboratively work on this.

He cliems it is  network/Os Issue.

Please let us know any solution for this, how to resolve

Hi,

I think that this is probably a firewall issue.  Data Protector uses what is called Dynamic Port Addressing, which means, after the initial contact is nade through port 5555, DP will use any port available.  If the Firewall is blocking that port, you will get a message similiar to what you are seeing

Please check your firewall.

There is a similar issue with you, you could refer to it:
