Column not showing up in edit properties

Question

Monday, May 29, 2017 3:16 PM

Hi all,

There are two columns not showing up in the edit properties dialog when uploading a new document to the library. All the other columns show up.

Please note that:

  1. The column shows up in the view.
  2. The column is applied to the content type (Document).
  3. The column is set to required.
  4. "Allow management of content types" is toggled to on.

I'm having trouble figuring out why the columns aren't showing up. I've tried deleting and recreating the columns, adding new columns to see if they show up (they don't).

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Anna,

First check whether your column added to content type or not.

or while recreating column there is check both the fields in additional column settings section mentioned below:

Hi,

Is the Document content type the default content type in the library?

When upload a document to library, the document is based on default content type. Thus, please make sure that you have set Document as default content type.

Thanks,

Dean Wang

hello,

when there are several content types in the doclib when you upload the document there will be dropdown list on the top of Edit properties form. In this list if you will choose content type for which mentioned fields are added they will be shown on the form.

Also check that ShowInEditForm attribute of these fields is set to true (Field Element).
