Unable to see any Azure GPU VMs available in any region during creation of DLVM

Question

Hello,

During creation of Deep Learning Virtual Machine(https://docs.microsoft. com/en-us/azure/machine-learning/data-science-virtual-machine/provision-deep-learning-dsvm), I see none of the plans are available in both East US and West US 2.

Both ND and NCv3 are available there according to this page (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/global-infrastructure/services/). ND/NCv3 are Azure GPU VM sizes. However, during actual creation none of them show up. During VM size configuration, it shows "No results" instead of showing the options available.

Is it an error or there is none available? (I wanted NCv3 / ND).

The core limit for the N series machines are set to 0 by default for all Azure Subscriptions. In order to enable this series you need to open a ticket to the Subscription and Billing team.

/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/sizes-gpu#ncv2-series

If you have not done this step yet this is likely the cause of the problem.

My vCPU limit is 20 already. I got it increased previously.

When I am trying it do it again, I don't find anything related N series in the drop down list.

Is this what you see when you try to pick the NCv3 series?

If you see this it is generally because A) you dont have them enabled for your subscription or B) you are not a subscription admin and there is a RBAC policy in place limiting you being able to create them.

I checked to see if I was able to request the cores and I found them by scrolling down the list

It seems to me that your subscription is not enabled to use specifically those V3 series machines.

I would suggest you just open a ticket to the Subscription and Billing team for another series and specify with the engineer once open what you are looking for. As I mentioned the reason you can't create that series is generally those two reasons above and only the subscription management team can tell for sure as they have access to your subscription information.

If you want to open that ticket regardless you can share the ticket number with me and I can also take a look.

Yes, it is the case with me. For the options unavailable, it said that they are not available for my subscription.

I just opened a ticked with the Subscription team. Hopefully, it would be sorted soon. 118082918884525 is the ticket request ID.

Thank you.

Thanks Kranthi. Looks like they engaged the capacity management team. I am still monitoring the ticket.
