Question
Tuesday, September 10, 2019 11:56 PM
I'm not sure which forum to post my question. A computer system used to have several versions of MS-Office installed (including 2003, 2007, 2010). Outlook 2003, Word, Excel, Access were from other years. We encountered an issue connecting Outlook 2003 to an exchange server that we could not resolve; so we un-installed all MS-Office software and also ran SetupProd_OffScrub.exe downloaded from here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4027149/how-to-uninstall-office-automatically
We then purchased and installed MS-Office 2019; but Outlook still presents the same error when trying to connect to Exchange server. I created a new Windows user on another system running MS-Office 2019 and was able to easily connect to exchange server.
Upon review of my steps taken so far; I notice that the above webpage (where I got SetupProd_OffScrub.exe) only mentions "Office 365 Office 2019 Office 2016 Office 2013". Where can I find a removal tool for older versions of MS-Office to ensure no remnant of those versions is still on this system and possibly interfering with 2019 version?

Hi,
Please refer to this article Uninstall Office from a PC at first. It is suit for Office 2019, Office 2016 Office 2013, Office 2010, Office 2007.
If it doesn't help, try manually uninstalling Office, refer to Manually uninstall Office
Please Note: Remove Office manually is a long, complex process and might require that you reinstall the operating system if certain steps are done incorrectly.

Hello Bella,
Thank you for a prompt response; but the suggestion does not answer my question.
A) The "Uninstall Office from a PC" page has two options:
1) Uninstall from Control Panel. I've already done this.
2) Uninstall using uninstall support tool. The support tool does NOT support older Office versions.
B) The "Manually uninstall Office" page does NOT mention Office 2003!
Does an uninstall support tool exist for removal of older Office versions? I'm guessing it does not, since you completely ignored this question in my original post.
Assuming the tool does not exit; then please provide a page to manually remove Office 2003.
Thanks, Frank

Hi f_bax,
Office 2003 Removal Tools have apparently been removed from articles, but I've noted its download link down before just in case, and here it is:
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9730793
Please try it out. It must still be functional.

Thanks Burak,
I will try the 2003 removal tool you suggested.
Is there still a similar tool for 2007 & 2010? Although the new tool "SetupProd_OffScrub.exe" claims to support these versions; I'm not sure that it actually does.

Office uninstall support tool (SetupProd_OffScrub.exe) should do just fine for the later versions. In case it doesn't, feel free to give these a try:
- Office 2007 removal tool: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9669698
- Office 2010 removal tool for Windows 7: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9737366
- Office 2010 removal tool for Windows 8: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9824112
