Upgrade to Vs 2015 Update 3

Question

Monday, July 31, 2017 9:01 PM

Hi,

I have the below version of Visual Studio 2015 installed on my build server.

Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise 2015
Version 14.0.23107.0 D14REL
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 4.6.01055

But I want to upgrade it to Vs 2015 with Update 3 as below

Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise 2015
Version 14.0.25431.01 Update 3
Microsoft .NET Framework
Version 4.6.01586

How can I upgrade the product. I selected the option to Modify but still it does not work. I get the message saying operation timeout.

Is there a quick workaround for this problem?

Hi,

I would like to suggest you download the complete Visual Studio 2015 update 3, and update it from the visual studio 2015 update 3.

Thanks,

Hi S,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

Please  join the free Dev Essentials program , sign in with your Microsoft email account, to gain access to the older versions.

Then choose Visual Studio 2015> [Trial]Visual Studio Enterprise 2015 with Update 3 directly download the web installer:

If you download DVD instead of the .exe installer, you may use File Checksum
Integrity Verifier
to check the SHA1, if it matches the official one, it means the installer is completely ok.

After the setup is complete, reboot your machine and run VS as administrator, it will show you the VS 2015 with Update 3 version. I have test it on my machine, it is the fastest way and doesn't take much time.
