Report Message Add-In throwing error with regards to separate user mailbox.

Question

Thursday, May 3, 2018 6:58 PM

Hello,

I am using Office 2016 and currently have FULL-ACCESS to another users' mailbox. We have implemented the Report Message add-in through our Office 365 environment. The App is designed to help Microsoft better analyze e-mails and filter them on their side.

The issue I am running into is when I use the add-in and go to Report message > Select 'Junk' or 'Phishing' > Error prompts with "You cannot perform this action. This add-in scenario is not supported in this folder."

Any ideas?

Hi Joshua Cabana,

Which folder do you perform this action on? From your own account or the shared mailbox?

Do you add this shared mailbox manually as an additional mailbox in Outlook?

I've researched a lot and currently, I haven't found any official article regarding this error message. Does this issue only happen to your account? Have you tested with another account?

Any updates, please feel free to post back.

Regards,

Perry

Hi,

Yes. We've tested it with a separate user and another unique mailbox. My account is testing a unique mailbox as well and this only happens on the Shared Mailbox / Mailbox I have full access to.

We've tested it with other accounts and the behavior is the same.

Hi Joshua Cabana,

Thank you for your update.

From your description, this situation only occurs to shared folders.

According to my research, it seems that shared mailbox cannot use add-ins. I haven't found official articles but you could refer to the replies in the following links.
