ISCSI target server error after reboot

Question

Friday, March 25, 2016 6:32 AM

Hello everyone
Please help me with my problem

I have windows server 2012 R2

I have joint 3 disks into storage pool, created virtual disk (E:) and put ISCSI virtual disks on it (E:\iSCSIVirtualDisks\iscsi_disk1.vhdx, iscsi_disk2.vhdx, iscsi_disk3.vhdx)

Created iscsi targets and attach them to the properly disk

All works fine.

Initiator can connect to the target, disks are visible in disk management.

But after reboot I have faced with the following problems:

1) Initiator can connect to target but no disk present in Disk management

2) On server, there are no virtual disk in server manager->ISCSI

3) Get-ISCSIServerTarget show all targets with correct attached to virtual disks

4) Get-ISCSIVirtualDisk shows my virtual disks with status error

How can I fix it???

Hi Nikolay_Shepel,

Thanks for your post.

Since the problem is odd, and we couldn't reproduce the issue. It's hard to do the troubleshoting.  Could you please check if there's any event log that may related to the problem.

You error is related to the missing ISCSI virtual disk.

Please check disk management to see if actually the disks are offline instead of disappeared.

Please run the command sfc scannow for your windows file system to fix broken file.

If all seems to be fine, I'm afraid, you might need to rebuild the virtual disk to have a check.

Best Regards,

Mary Dong
