Some request on port 10080 (amanda) in TCP

Question

Hi,

I have a old TMG Server which I have to remove. The problem is that I see a lot of traffic:

X.X.X.X to X.X.X.X at port amanda (wich is the 10080 port number in TCP).

Does someone know which component do that on the windows client ? Because it is not on all client.

The computers are not exactly the same, then I can not take one which doesn't do this request and compare it with another one.

Kind Regards

The key of learning is practice.

Hi arnaud.helin,

Thanks for your posting here. It seems that the amanda is a third-party product.

AMANDA, the Advanced Maryland Automatic Network Disk Archiver, is a backup solution that allows the IT administrator to set up a single master backup server to back up multiple hosts over network to tape drives/changers or disks or optical media. Amanda uses native utilities and formats (e.g. dump and/or GNU tar) and can back up a large number of servers and workstations running multiple versions of Linux or Unix. Amanda uses a native Windows client to back up Microsoft Windows desktops and servers.

The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft, I suggest you could have this asked in Amanda Forum for better answers:
