Hi Frank,
A key performance indicator (KPI) is a business metric used to evaluate factors that are crucial to the success of an organization. KPI is actually a measure to do the performance. ScoreCard is basically use to display graphic indicators that visually convey the overall success or failure of any item in its efforts to achieve a particular goal. The scorecard is based on a collection of key performance indicators (KPIs), each of which represents an aspect of unit performance. KPIs provide a tactical comparation of performance at a particular point in time.
KPIs differ per organization; business KPIs may be net revenue or a customer loyalty metric, while government might consider unemployment rates.
