I have a user experiencing an issue where if they launch an Excel spreadsheet from their Network Share Drive, the file launches Excel but displays a blank workbook. If they file is copied to the desktop and launched locally, it works.
I verified permissions on the share are appropriate for the user. I (as the admin) tested the Network Share location of file and it opens without a problem.
I have changed options within the Trust Center. This did not improve the situation.
The user's workstation is Windows 7 Pro. I am using Windows 10 Pro.
The only change for the user and her computer is the upgrade to a SSD.
Thoughts or suggestions?

Hi,
Did this problem only appear in Excel? How about other programs? TEXT, WORD?
I suggest you check if you enable the firewall in the problem PC, try to disable it and check the result.
Then open Excel- go to File- Options- Advanced- uncheck "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)"
If this issue still exists, please try to repair Office application:
Please try these methods and let me know if these will help you, I'm glad to help you.

Emi Zhang

DDE was unchecked. Disabling the Firewall did not help. I was able to use the OEM keycard to download a fresh copy. I uninstalled MS Office 2013. This did not work either.
I have limited the issue to being Microsoft Office 2013. I tested this by opening a Notepad file (via shortcut) from the desktop- it worked. The original Notepad file was stored in the network shared location.

Hi,
Did you install any add-ins for Excel?
Try to open Excel in safe mode and check the result.
And I also suggest you check if you install pre-install Office before, please go to control panel and check if there are other version of Office, please try to uninstall all Office applications, you can use Easy Fix tool please refer to option 2 from this link:
This is a way for uninstalling Office completely, and then please re-install it.
