Question

I have a site with a failed server and the DFS needs rebuilding. There are 2 replication groups along with the name spaces.
I can remove name spaces without issues. However I am unable to remove any part of the replication groups, not the members, the connections or the group itself.
Using both DFSM mmc or privileged CMD and dfsradmin I get the following error on each of the member servers and each of the domain controllers:
C:\dfsradmin RG Delete /Rgname:"Replication Group"
Failed:
Replication Group: The replication group cannot be deleted. The user has insufficient access rights.
I confirmed that domain admins and enterprise admins have delegated rights assigned but for the sake of it added Everyone but still I get this error.
There is of course a topology error due to the failed member server.
Is there a way to force the deletion since I really don't need to keep any of this in place and would like to blow it all away and rebuild it (correctly this time)?
Cheers

Hi,
Please see the "What permissions are required to manage a namespace? How can I delegate authority to manage a DFS namespace?" part in following article:

Hi.
Happy to hear that you had no problems with DFS-N.
For you DFS-R problems, have you verified the rights via ADSIedit? One I found a deny everyone delete, never figured how dun it.
Microsoft Social Wiki has an article with links about DFS-R Problems and guides and such.

Thanks for the link. I had to give full control on all child objects to 'Everyone' (admin groups wouldn't work) temporarily which enabled me to delete everything from within each of the replication groups, but I still get the same error trying to delete the group itself

Hi There are Several articles for the same. Since I'm a new user I cant post the link but yes you can type in at Google Such as Step By Step Guide for DFS Replication and the first three answer would be the best to describe you.
Thanks
