Question
Sunday, April 29, 2018 11:19 AM
It's a bit of a story behind it bare with me plz:
I have sold by GPU a few weeks back and the person who got it claims it's not working.
Obviously this is false and i am currently in a dispute with the person because i'm sure 100% he is lying or just broke my video card during the installation process.
My question is:
Can i track down my GPU in my registry so that it shows the model (gtx 1080 ti) and the last date it was connected to the system?
If i can find proof of it working from my end through a registry entry from windows its enough to win the dispute since i don't take scammers lightly and surely not going to give my buck away for someone who can't install a GPU.\
Thanks in advance !

You can track GPU entry in Registry. But that doesn't mean it is working properly.
Open Device Manager and locate your graphic card there. Expand Display adapters and locate your Graphic card. Right click on it and select Properties. If it works properly then under Device status you will find the message "This device is working properly."

Hi,
There are som GPU information in registy:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
But after removing your GTX 1080 Ti, it should disappear. I'm afraid you can not prove that it was working before.

If you want to know the model of your bought GPU, don’t need to check the registry.
Just open the Run dialog box.
Type dxdiag
Click on the Display tab of the dialog, then you will see graphics card information.
If it is not GTX 1080 ti, you can contact the seller.

well that's not really helpful, how come you get stored all other bs in your system but not the hardware that was owned before?
