Question

Hi,
I have a problem whereby having deleted one or more network printers from a windows 10 cient the deleted printers re-appear when another (different) network printer is added.
The deleted printers are re-appearing in printers and devices (control panel) and appear under windows 10 printer settings but do not appear when printing from applications.
The deleted printers also do not appear in the users registry, suggesting that this is a windows 10 client problem.
Also if we attempt to set one of the deleted printers (which has re-appeared) as default we get an error, again suggesting that the printer is not actually installed for the logged on user.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this?
Thanks,
Phil

Thanks for the replies and apologies for the response.
We resolved the issue by deleting the following registry keys:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\V4 Connections
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Providers\Client Side Rendering Print Provider
Also worth mentioning that we were experiencing this problem after moving the clients from one domain to another!

Is this specific printers or drivers?
Have you tried to remove the printers and printer drivers via Print Management? Try that see if that helps.

Sounds like a permissions problem. Does the symptom change if the user is an Administrator? I would use ProcMon to see what is going on.
