Question

I tried uninstalling VS 2015 but it was taking some hours, i searched the problem and i found out someone had the same, he waited whole night and in the morning it still was uninstalling program. I can't let my laptop be on whole night. I cancelled the process of uninstalling but it seems it also is going to take some time, what can i do to safely uninstall this program ? I have windows 10.

Hi All Might-o,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

Please run Fix it tool to fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed.

About uninstalling VS, please go to Control Panel-Programs and Features, if there has "Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Professional", right click it and choose "Uninstall" Then try with the Visual Studio Uninstaller to uninstall the Whole VS cleanly, you can run it a couple of times.

Thank you for reply, i tried few times but it just stops at "Acquiring" "Prepering your system" or something like this, but it take whole day i can easily close program without using ctr+shift+esc. I guess its just something wrong with program, maybe it lacks some unistall files. I installed VS 2017 and it works fine, installation process of 10GB was really fast. Thank you all for help.

I uninstalled VS 2015 before installing VS 2017. I have a desktop system but it did not take that long for me. I don't know if it makes a difference but the details of how you do the uninstall probably is important. I don't remember how I did it but be sure to use the "Programs and Features" in Control Panel or whatever is provided.

If a laptop has less resources available than is stated as a requirement for software then you must expect problems.

I did as u say, twice but it just stops in some moment and nothing special happens. In control panel it says that program takes only 996Mb. Now i used this method :
