Generic USB Hub Power Management in Registry

Question

Thursday, January 25, 2018 3:53 PM

This might not be the correct forum but I couldn't find one that was specific to windows registry.

I am trying to uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on the USB Hubs through registry so that I can push it out through SCCM. I can go into device manager and do it manually but we have too many users to do this manually.

I was able to do this with the network adapter because the network adapter has "PnPCapabilities" in regedit already. The USBHub does not. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to find this setting in the registry or if there was a way to add it. If it can be added, what would the hex value be?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\36fc9e60-c465-11cf-8056-444553540000}\0005

Hi Peter.Mitchell,

According to your description, I find a similar issue for Windows 7, but it is suit for Windows 10. I consider that you could use usb suspend with reigistry or deploy the script to disable it. Please refer to the link below.
