Question

Hello

I have windows 10 with last updates and installed few VM like "Windows 10 dev" and "ubuntu 20.04". My question is how to access to usb device from Ubuntu VM?

When I run "windows 10 dev" VM it allow me use enhanced session mode and there I can share those usb devices, but for ubuntu and other VM based on linux I dont see that option. So how to do if "enhanced session" mode doesnt work for those VM?

You've asked in windows server forums. While there are similarities better to ask subject matter experts here in dedicated forums.

"but actually i think it should be the same for windows server and win10"

That's a nice thought to have, but it is not the way TechNet forums are necessarily designed.  Though the Hyper-V engine is the same, the user interface is not always the same between Hyper-V on a client OS and Hyper-V on a server OS.  You are asking about 'how to' do something through the user interface.  For that I would rely more on the client forum as you are running the client version.

But, just to make a little more frustrating for you, you are asking specifically about doing this in a Linux VM.  For that there is even another forum because Linux has its own anomalies.  I might first check in the Hyper-V/Linux forum to see if the experts there can address your question.

Yes, the above referenced forum is for Linux on Hyper-V server platforms, but maybe your wish of it being the same on both platforms will come true.  You might have to see what it says in the Linux forum, try it, and if it doesn't work on the client implementation, then ask in the client forum with the additional knowledge you have gained from the Linux forum.

The bottom line is that we are not trying to brush you off.  We are trying to direct you to the best available resource that can assist in getting you an answer.

Hi dUkeNuken,

As mentioned, it's recommended to turn to the following forum:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=linuxintegrationservices

In additional, below is a related article about Ubuntu VM on Hyper V, for your reference:
