Question

The server we use has a legit version of Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition (64-bit) and BIDS (to be clear, a version of VS2008 Pro for BI projects).
Unfortunately, when working with my SSAS project, VS2008 is constantly freezing even after I tried repairing it. So I'm considering uninstalling and re-installing it once again.
My question: is the BIDS version of VS2008 something that came with the sql server installation? Is there a way I can download it for free?
Our version MSSQL is legit, but I'm not sure where the DVD or the downloaded image is.
Thanks.

You can download BIDS for free
BIDS Helper 2008 is for SQL 2008, SQL 2008 R2, and Visual Studio 2008.

:) Just ReInstall your VS2008 and Install BIDS after the installation of VS.

Thanks, but that's not BIDS. That's an add-on to BIDS.
