Question
Thursday, February 23, 2017 12:35 AM
Hi,
I've installed a French version of Windows 10 Pro (because I'm in France now) and even if, after the installation, I added the english language and completely turned everything possible in english, I still have groups names and groups description in French. Is there a way to translate all of them in english too?
I would like to have the entire system in english, even if I'm forced to reinstall it completely. Is there a way?
Thank you in advance

Hi Giant,
This is default behavior. It's recommended to use native language images. Since Language package cannot cover the whole system.

Hi Giant,
Would you please let us know what's group you mean?
Check your configuration:
1. Settings ->Time & language.
3. Click Region & language.
4. Under Languages, click Add a language.
5. Click the language you want to add, and select the specific variation if applicable.
6. Select the new language and click Options (and download any the language packs as necessary)
7. On Region & language, select the new language, and click Set as default.
8. If applicable, under Country or region, select your location to enable the Windows 10 to give you local content.
9. Control Panel->Add a language.
10. Click the Advanced settings link in the left pane.
11. Click the "Apply language settings to the Welcome screen, system accounts, and new user accounts."
12. On the Administrative tab, under the "Welcome screen and new user accounts", click the Copy settings button.
14. Check the Welcome screen and system accounts and the New user accounts options.
15. Click OK.
16. Click OK again.
17. Reboot your computer and upon restart, you should see the new default language globally set through the operating system.

Hi,
Yes, that's all I did to modify the language.
I mean the default Windows Groups (Administrators, Users, Hyper-V Admins, etc..) and their description. They are still in French. I could rename all of them manually, but I would like to know if there is a way to do this automatically, fast, and why they haven't been translated.
And anyway I don't know all the original names and descriptions :/
