I made a wim image with dism from a Windows 10 Home installation. How can I make a bootable usb from it?
I found some methods by replacing the install.wim on a Windows 10 image, but in 1709 there is no install.wim, but a install.epd.
Second, my wim is 9 Gbyte so it's to large for a exFat file system.

Hi,
How did you found Windows 10 1709 have not a install.wim?
Normally we could apply install.wim file to USB flash by referring steps in How to create a bootable Windows 10 USB flash drive.
According to my know, Fat32 have the single file limit (4G) rather than exFat.

I made an installation media with the media creator and there was an ESD file in stead of a WIM file.
With exFat iI was wrong. The USB is formatted Fat32. As far I can tell from the internet, UEFI can't boot in most cases from an exFat USB.

Hi,
I would apology for my late reply.
Now we can't download .wim file from Microsoft public official website. The only measure for downloading .wim file is from MSDN subscriber, but we need to pay for register.
Please try to convert .esd file to .wim file by referring the article: Convert an ESD File to a WIM File for Driver Updates in Your Windows Image* It might be what you want to search.
Bests,

Stumbled across this and since it's from back in November, it's probably a little late to respond. It's possible to split the WIM into multiple files.
This article is useful in general, but it's targeted to enterprise use. There may be some limitations with versions below Pro.

I know this is late and I hope you have fixed your issue already, but you have to extra the .wim file from th .epd. This can be done with 2 commands. Id have to grab them from my pc but just google it. It works
