Losing Remote Desktop Connection to Azure VM after connecting to VPN

Question

Thursday, August 4, 2016 10:13 AM

Hi,

My company uses Pulse Secure VPN to connect to their resources.

I installed the VPN client on my Azure VM. As soon as I connect the VPN, my Remote Desktop connection is killed and I am not able to connect to the VM again. I assume this is some configuration issue on the VM. Would you be able to provide some guidance.

Many thanks for your help!

Regards,

Dominic

Hi,

I imagine the VPN client is taking over the routing on the VM, therefore disconnecting your remote desktop session. Depending on the client you are using you probably need to look at "split tunneling". This is a good start to help you understand...
