Unified Write Filter (UWF) is an optional Windows 10 feature that helps to protect your drives by intercepting and redirecting any writes to the drive.
Kindly go through the following Microsoft articles for further details:
Unified Write Filter (UWF) feature
Use the Unified Write Filter (UWF) feature
Install the feature:
Click Start, type Turn Windows features on or off.
In the Windows Features window, expand the Device Lockdown node, and check Unified Write Filter > OK.
The Windows Features window indicates Windows is searching for required files and displays a progress bar. Once found, the window indicates Windows is applying the changes. When completed, the window indicates the requested changes are completed.
Click Close to close the Windows Features window.
To Enable the Filter:
Open CMD as Admin and type:
uwfmgr filter enable
Enable write protection for a drive:
Open CMD as Admin and type:
uwfmgr.exe volume protect C:
Restart
Confirm that UWF is running:
Open CMD as Admin and type:
uwfmgr.exe get-config

Hello,
Your proposal is very interesting, but I don't understand and see the interest to protect de drive.
On our case, the drive is a flash drive ...
And sometimes, we need to change the coinfiguration : add a link, but not more.
In fact, the goal is to provide 4 screens with DELL, and something simple.
Then, after each change, I need to be sure that the configuration can't be changed to a other one.
If I restart the UWF, I loose all the changes done since the beginning; like a Factory Reset.
I'm not interest to loose all the configuration.
But, I'm interested on 2 important things :
1 + Never loose the configurations.
2 + Find a tool, like a UWF server, (or Something like that), that is able to backup the configuration for each DELL Wyse 5070 and also restore all the configuration if necessary (by admin actions).
How to do these things ?
