If a Power Point file is on a One Drive for Business, get an error that the "one drive is not running" and to check it. But when I open a Word doc, it comes right up. Don't understand why it is "running" for one type of file and not the other.

Hi,
I need more information to analyze this issue for you.
How did you open the ppt file on OneDrive for Business ? Could you describe it in detail? You can also provide me some screenshots to help me understand your issue.
What is the detailed version of Office you are using?(You can open your PowerPoint, create a blank presentation, click File > Account to get the Office product information)
Did you open the file from the local OneDrive for Business folder? Please check the file sync status in the list. You can refer to What do the OneDrive icons mean? to check OneDrive status.
Did you open the file stored in the OneDrive for Business location in PowerPoint?
Does this issue only occur in this PowerPoint file, can other PowerPoint files on OneDrive be opened successfully? Try to create a new PowerPoint document and store it in OneDrive. Can it be opened smoothly?
If this problem only occurs when opening this document, try to copy this file to an available local location, can you open it?
You can click blue OneDrive cloud icon in the Windows taskbar notification area to check if OneDrive is working. (You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the OneDrive icon.)
