Can't create TCP/IP socket (10022)

Question

Tuesday, May 29, 2018 6:51 AM

Hi,

Previously our all systems was working absolutely fine. But after Windows Update (Build 1803) everything is total mess.

I think there are so many bugs in the current Windows 10 update.

I tried all the options which many people shared on the net but no success. We have an application copied which users access it directly from shared drive it uses MySQL ODBC connection, after the update (Build 1803) it stopped working. when we copy the same application on local drive it is working perfectly fine.

Error Message is as follows:

Can't create TCP/IP socket (10022). It is not able to connect to MySQL ODBC drivers.

Please provide me a proper solution as I am very frustrated because of the same.

Regards,

Vikas

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem on some systems of our customers.

So I made a small connection-tool that tests the connection: it works, no problem.

Putting exactly the same connection method to our main product/program (that does a lot more than just connecting to a database): the error is still there...

Our application does fetch some scripts an pictures form a central folder on a server. When I copy all these folders to a local drive and configure the apllication that it looks there for the additional files - then the TCP/IP connections error does NOT occure!

But this is not a solution. We have some installations with more than 150 clients - we can't decentralize the scrips, otherwise every update would take days!

Some years ago a similar problem occured with Win Vista and Win 7 because the user hasn't had permissions to a server or folder. But this is not the case here.

Please help!

Soon!

that does sound similar to this:
socket() fails with error 10022 when application is run from certain network shares on Vista and Windows 7 (works on XP)
so perhaps the same registry key proposed as answer does help?

We have the same issue with 50 odd stations, registry edit suggested from Windows 7 issue a few years ago doesn't seem to resolve the issue

Seem to be caused by the Feature update 1803 for Windows 10

Hi

Enable SMB v2 on the server and that should resolve the issue

Thanks

Hi

Buen día.-

Ya probamos activar nuevamente SMB1 en el cliente W10, lo que nos permitió poder explorar nuevamente el recurso compartido desde un Server linux SMB1.. pero no conseguimos ejecutar la aplicación.-

Sigue respondiendo Can't create TCP/IP socket (10022)

Alguien pudo avanzar en esto? gracias
