Question

Hi,
I have a client set up using Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. Anywhere access was running fine for a couple of months. This weekend though, all remote users are being blocked from remotely accessing their desktops. They can log into the anywhere web site (now only with Chrome - IE just gives a blank screen). They can access the server folders okay. But when they try to get to their desktop this error pops up:
Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because your computer or device did not pass the Network Access Protection requirements set by your network administrator. Contact your network administrator for assistance.
I never intentionally set up Network Access Protection. And this is happening on all my users' remote computers (mine too). I've patched the server and still comes up. I am finding nothing on it on the internet
Please help, it was working so well until now.
Thanks,
Charlie

Hi Charlie,
Would you please let me confirm whether have done any change before this issue occurred?
On current situation, please log on the Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials and open Dashboard, then open Settings panel and click Anywhere Access tab. Please check if show “Issues detected”. Meanwhile, please check if you can click “Repair…” button to repair Anywhere Access.
Meanwhile, please follow the path: %programdata%\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs, then check log files if find relevant clues.

If any update, please feel free to let me know.
Hope this helps.

I have this same issue. It seems to have occurred recently since Microsoft Updates on the server. I remote in to a workstation and has been working for months. Suddently after MU, cant connect to the workstation.
Any suggestions on fixing it?

Viewing the logs files we see we've had no successful logons since 11/17/2014 which coincides when the Windows Updates were auto installed.
We have uninstalled every single update on and after 11/17/2014, but sadly this did not resolve the issue.
Has anyone managed to resolve this yet? Please post the fix if you have!

Still not working. I've just applied all the latest updates (11/30/14) as well as all Dell firmware and driver updates. Same issue of saying Network Access Protection blocking access
I'm aware of the NAP concept, but I didn't set it up nor make any deliberate changes to the system.

I have the same issue. Anyone found a fix yet or work around?
Seems like one can not disable or remove NAP (Network Access Protection) from Server 2012!
